How We Started...
The Cycle Hub was started in 2020 by Richard, Chris and Nick. With COVID bringing the family back together in Chester from far afield, the father and sons trio lamented the lack of a dedicated local bike shop in the area and set out to fill that void.
Starting as a small, workshop-only outfit with a focus on quality work, fast turnaround and customer service, The Cycle Hub’s initial guise was humble yet focussed. As it quickly became apparent that Chester’s avid cyclists had been looking for such an offering, demand for servicing work swiftly grew and so too did the premises and scope of the business!
Our ethos has been the same since day one:
Quality work, caring about our customers and their bikes and passing on the passion for cycling that we ourselves possess as riders. We’re big on communication, big on community and put our full effort into all we do, whether it’s getting your old bike running the best it’s ever been or helping to source the perfect new one fit for your needs!

We sell bikes that we know will put smiles on faces; bikes that we ourselves would be excited to own and ride. Whether it’s a feather light BMC built to crush Strava PBs or the latest Mondraker E-MTB to tackle epic all day adventures on North Wales roughest trails, you can trust the quality, durability and performance of everything we stock. Meet The Team
At The Cycle Hub we live and breathe bikes. We’re a family owned local bike shop, and our team are an extension of that family! No matter when it is you visit the store, whether popping in to grab some new tyres, dropping your bike off for a service or swing by for a chat, you’ll always be greeted by familiar faces!
Richard
A lifelong cyclist and bike tinkerer, Richard has been riding bikes of all disciplines since the dark ages. These days he operates from the shadows; managing accounts from the background, influencing business direction from afar, and endlessly trying to find the perfect road bike wheel setup. Despite his scarcity in store these days, you may still catch a rare glimpse of him in the shop from time to time!
Chris
Having spent many years in the mountains riding bikes and sliding on snow, Chris now settles for long north wales Gravel rides and social MTB sessions. Managing day to day shop operations, customer accounts and social media, chances are, if you approach the shop desk on any given day, it’ll be Chris there to greet you!
Nick
When it comes to time spent in the saddle, you’ll be hard pressed to find someone putting in more hours than Nick. Whether it’s road, gravel or MTB, Nick rides far and he rides fast. He’s the talent. Youtube star. The guy interupting your pinkbike video. When it comes to bike sales, Nick’s our frontman, and his knowledge and passion for riding translates into every conversation. If you’re looking for a new bike and have questions on what’s going to work best for you, Nicks the guy to talk to!
Will
The wizard. The man behind the curtain. The angry shouting coming from the workshop. He goes by many names; but in all, he is our head mechanic. Will’s level of passion, dedication for his work and depth of knowledge are unmatched by mechanics twice his age. If there’s a problem with you’re bike, he’ll solve it!
Jude
He came from the south. He once lived in a field with goats and chickens. He rides bikes. And you better believe he fixes them too! With experience beyond his years of running bike workshops and bringing bicycles back to life from even the direst of states, he’s the guy you want working on your bike when the worst occurs!
